Piot Leiedal

Leiedal is the intermunicipal organisation for spatial planning, economic expansion and reconversion in South West Flanders. In addition to the development and construction of business parks and social plots, the focus is to jointly invest in shared expertise to serve the partners, being the thirteen cities and towns of the region. Through intensive interaction with our associates, partner organisations and authorities, we continuously work on the development of this dynamic region, forever aiming to make it an attractive place to do business, work, live and visit. Responding to societal challenges as to demographics, employment, mobility, housing, energy, ecology and entrepreneurship, Leiedal approaches the increasing complexity of assignments integrally, resulting in broad high-quality support.

Motivation/focus

Based on the regional climate objectives (net-zero by 2050), Intermunicipal organisation Leiedal aims to strengthen the implementation of sustainable entrepreneurship on the business estates it manages, and more generally in the South West Flanders region. In this context, with regard to making existing business parks more sustainable, Leiedal now also wishes to focus on the energy aspect through the development of several programmes targeting companies.

Approach:

Expected impact

As an intermunicipal organisation, Leiedal brings local knowledge and strong networks to the ECOBoost project. We aim to support small and medium-sized enterprises (MSEs) in becoming more energy efficient. Through ECOBoost, we share our experience and learn from other regions. This helps us improve our local approach and give MSEs the right tools, advice, and support to save energy.
