Pilot Paris

France is aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. To achieve this ambitious goal, all businesses are being encouraged to take decisive action to decarbonize their operations. The Île-de-France region, home to one-third of all French companies and contributing 31% of the national GDP, plays a pivotal role in meeting this challenge.

To reach this objective, MSEs must be a driving force in the energy transition. However, local MSEs are often the most vulnerable when they must accelerate their energy transition. Consequently, the ECOBoost project was launched to improve energy efficiency of MSEs across the retail, hospitality and food service sectors currently facing new demands for sustainable and responsible activity.

Approach

In collaboration with 6 European partners, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Île-de-France are implementing a regional pilot program. Over a two-year period, this initiative will support at least 30 local MSEs in testing the “Energy Transition Navigator” – an innovative platform offering tailored resources such as personalized energy audits, practical toolkits, technical assistance, alternative business models and training modules.

As part of our initiative in the IDF region, our support program includes:

  • Tailored support for a panel of minimum 30 pilot MSEs, selected to test with concrete solutions how to improve their energy performance
  • In-depth energy performance diagnostics for each participating company, to identify and optimize potential sources of energy waste
  • Specific awareness-raising actions and training sessions designed to address the challenges of energy transition and support MSEs in adopting more sustainable practices
  • Deployment and use of an innovative experimental tool – the “Energy Transition Navigator”, helping pilot companies to enhance their energy efficiency and to reduce their energy-related costs
  • Analysis of the results to assess the impact of the actions implemented, identify best practices and explore the potential to expand the most effective ECOBoost solutions

Expected impacts

  • MSEs meaningfully engaged in the energy transition, with a deeper understanding of its importance
  • MSEs equipped with practical techniques and digital tools to assess and enhance their energy performance effectively
  • Energy-efficient MSEs acting as drivers of change across their value chains, promoting responsible activities
  • More resilient, autonomous, and less vulnerable MSEs, better prepared to withstand global energy market fluctuations and volatility
